3rd Molar Removal
Wisdom teeth are the last teeth to erupt within the mouth. When they align properly gum tissue is healthy, wisdom teeth do not have to be removed. Unfortunately, this does not generally happen, 3rd molars can be partially or completely buried in bone because they haven't got enough space to emerge into the mouth, being the last teeth to come out. Being partially buried makes wisdom teeth prone to infection and cyst formation, necessitating their removal. However, because removal of wisdom tooth involves making a cut in the gum especially when it is really buried, there could be complications like numbness of the lips and tongue resulting from nerve damage. For this reason, not all wisdom teeth are taken out. There are definite criteria for taking out a wisdom tooth which we at Apilado Dental Clinic will be more than happy to explain to you!
